Rep. Cory Mills Votes to Raise Floridians’ Health Care Costs — Again

Sanford, FL – Today, the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan measure to lower the cost of health insurance premiums on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. Rep. Cory Mills voted against the measure, even though 114,000 of his constituents rely on the ACA marketplace for coverage.

Without action to lower health care costs, Florida families will pay thousands more every year, with premiums set to rise by an average of 81%.This vote follows a familiar pattern for Congressman Mills. This year alone, he has voted to strip Medicaid from thousands of his constituents, drain funding from rural hospitals, and nearly double ACA premium prices – to pay for tax handouts for billionaires.

Bale Dalton, who is running for Congress in FL-07 said:

“Today, Congressman Cory Mills once again voted to make life harder and more expensive for Floridians, by increasing the cost of health insurance. Just like he voted to cut Medicaid and strip funding from rural hospitals – to pay for tax giveaways for billionaires. Central Florida deserves so much better than Congressman Cory Mills, and we won’t forget it in November.”

After a lifetime of service, Bale Dalton is fed up with politicians like Cory Mills who have turned their back on American families and put themselves ahead of the people they serve.

Among numerous scandals, Mills has been investigated by law enforcement for assaulting a young woman, and was issued a restraining order by a judge for harassing another. He is currently under investigation for ethics violations related to profiting from the sale of arms in government contracts. Allegations have been raised about the veracity of Mills’ claims regarding his military service. Cory Mills has shown repeatedly that he will always look out for his own interests at the expense of helping the Floridians he claims to represent.

Florida’s 7th Congressional District includes all of Seminole County and the southern half of Volusia County.
